Family Medicine

Direct primary care (DPC) means direct interaction with patients rather than going through insurance (I do not take insurance). If you have been my patient before, you know that I’ve always embraced many of the DPC principles, such as creating personalized treatment plans, offering real-time feedback, building strong relationships with patients, providing thorough follow-up care, and making necessary adjustments to treatment.

Membership covers:

  • Urgent visits if/when needed
    • Sports injury, need for sutures, flu/covid, asthma attack, etc.
  • Comprehensive Annual Exam including pap, exam, screenings, and prevention
    • I will order/refer for outside labs, colonoscopy, mammogram or other outside imaging
  • Basic In-Office Testing – EKG, flu, A1c, etc
  • Chronic Care Visits every 2-3m for chronic disease or when making life changes
  • Priority Access
  • Emergency Coverage – Since there is no support staff or colleague, I, alone, will be on call for emergencies after hours. For vacation coverage, I will communicate a plan.
  • Osteopathic Manipulation Therapy (OMT) – 2 treatments per year if medically indicated
  • Prolotherapy – 2 treatments per year if medically indicated

Typical labs, medications, vaccinations, and imaging are not included. I am, however arranging significant discounts. This approach ensures control over your journey with transparent costs for your care, labs, imaging, and supplements instead of using health insurance.

Although you can still use insurance for certain services like imaging, labs, and specialists, the focus will be on delivering care without the restrictions of traditional insurance models. You’ll also benefit from high-level access to care due to a smaller patient population. While conventional providers typically manage thousands of patients, most DPC providers handle 600-800 patients; my practice will be limited to just 200 patients. This allows me to dedicate more time and attention to you, rather than being bogged down by administrative tasks.

In terms of treatment philosophies, there are key differences among the approaches I offer:

  • Conventional Medicine focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases using established methods and medications.
  • Integrative Medicine takes a holistic approach, combining conventional treatments with complementary/alternative therapies to promote overall wellness.
  • Functional Medicine aims to identify and address the root causes of disease, focusing on prevention and long-term health.

This model ensures that you receive the most personalized and attentive care possible, tailored to your specific needs and preferences.
